At the Beach Challenge

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we have a fun challenge for you. We want you to make a vintage, shabby chic or primitive card that depicts a VACATION AT THE BEACH.

When we designed this challenge we assumed that everyone in North America, the UK and parts of Europe would be in the throes of winter and would be looking forward to something warm. Well it is cold and snowy in many places but there sure is some odd warm weather happening in others. Nevertheless, we think many of you would enjoy a vacation at the beach right about now.

One random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display. In addition, the Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Our Design Team has created wonderful cards with a beach theme and it is so much fun seeing how different they are. If you want the details on their cards, just click on their name and you will be taken directly to their blog.

Embossing Challenge

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow.
This week we have a great challenge - EMBOSSING. You can create your vintage, shabby
chic or primitive card with dry or heat embossing.

Join us in saying hello to Digi Doodle Shop, a lovely new sponsor who
will be providing one random winner with a $10 gift certificate to their store. The random
winner will also receive a winner's badge from Sugar Creek Hollow to
display on her blog. In addition the Design Team will select one
project as Card of the Week and the creator of that card will receive a
badge to display and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Now....I have used the Sewing Bakset as my image.  My embossing is on the frames that surround the image.  Remember....you can do wet or dry embossing for this challenge.

The Design Team has used a number of the fabulous images from Digi Doodle Shop and have
created some wonderful inspiration for you.  Check them out over on our BLOG.

Sunday Afternoon Tea

Hello and happy Sunday to you.  I trust you are spending time with those you love today.  After having nearly 3000 in  church today and three services this morning to accommodate that many, I am tired, to say the least.

I want to share a simple project with you today.  I have made these numerous times, but still keep going back to them...they are little tea boxes.  Perfect for holding only a couple of bags but really sweet for gift giving.

Now....I know you will ask, so here is my "hand-drawn" pattern for these little jewels.  Sorry it is so primitive but this is the best I have.

Enjoy a cup of tea, a sit by the fire, or being with those that you love!

Save Some Trees Challenge

Happy New Year and welcome to our first challenge of 2012 at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we want you to save some trees and RE-PURPOSE PAPER TOWELS, TOILET PAPER OR COFFEE FILTERS. Instead of buying some designer paper for your project, go to your kitchen or bathroom and grab one of the above items and let's see how you can transform it and incorporate it into your vintage, shabby chic or primitive card or other paper-crafted project.
This week one random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display. In addition, the Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

I have used several layers of white coffee filter, stamped with dots, and folded into my medallion.  This is a great way to use up your little ribbon scraps as well.

Our new Design Team is in place and everyone has worked hard to create some inspiration for you. If you want details on how they re-purposed the various items. please click HERE to view our challenge blog and the cards that our glorious team has made for you.
